The Reason for the creation of

    BRAVE NEW AMERICAN HEROES

On September 4th, David Musial was asked by an officer for "DARE AMERICA" if he had one more song for a full 10 song album featuring "MJ Medina," he thought for a moment and then said "yes." David was teaching a class at NYU in 1993 at the moment the first bomb hit the World Trade Center. That evening he wrote an anti-terrorism song titled "Earthquake." After it was recorded, he sent it to Hilary Clinton at the White House. The officer stated that this would be a good choice and asked David to book a session to record a new version. David was free on 9/11/01 and the session was booked. At 8 A.M that morning, David was in his studio with a direct view of the World Trade Center. A few horrible minutes later, while he was on the phone with his dad in Buffalo, he heard the crash. Confused, he excused himself from the call, walked out onto the 35th floor balcony at his "SkyRoom" studio facility, looked down at the streets and saw nothing out of the ordinary. As he turned to go back into the studio, he saw a strange "puff of black smoke" emitting from a WTC Tower. He told his dad the he thinks there is a "small" fire in the WTC. He hung up the phone, turned on his video camera, and the rest is horrible, human history! He then was totally "freaked" when he suddenly remembered that what he was currently working on was a song about this very exact thing. How bizarre is this???

Later that eve, these haunting and forceful lyrics came to him. He jotted them down for maybe a future tribute. He then started gathering footage over the weeks to come, and he made a music video "Earthquake" with him performing the lead. He was at Ground Zero on March 11, 2002 for the 6 month lighting ceremony, hence the closing visual. In January of 2002, the Medina's were asked to perform a song of comfort for people who lost loved ones in the Hoboken, NJ area. Their dad Luis asked David if he could set the lyrics to melody and if his kids could sing it. This is how the song came about. Now in 2006, it has been performed for thousands all over America. It was used at the "New York Will Never Forget" walk-a-thon by the "Helping Hands Foundation" on 9/11/02. Now it will be available on the SmartTraxMedia.com label. All profit this year will be donated to the 9/11 memorial charity.
