    Statement of Work

Like the Twin Towers, I was a fraternal twin.

Now, like the lost Twin Towers (one was six feet taller than the other) I presently stand six feet above the ground, while my late twin sister Patricia's earthly remains rest six feet below ground.

My beloved twin died with much suffering at 36, from a rare genetic blood disorder (a fatal allergy to sunlight). I became Spiritually bankrupted for almost ten years later, having lost Faith that Justice could exist in this world.

When the Twin Towers and their doomed occupants were brutally murdered on 9/11/01, I took it very personally. I had just installed an exhibition, named "Duality," on September 1st, 2001. It was dedicated to my late twin sister Patricia.

In the artworks, I juxtaposed images of the Twin Towers with scenes of my historic City of Easton, Pennsylvania, to symbolize, in over 100 paintings and digital pieces, the "Duality" of life and death; hope and despair; joy and grief; Spiritual Light and the darkness of Spiritual bankruptcy.

These creations helped me heal from the intense grief of losing my twin.

The artworks were all created within five years prior to the inhumane attack on the Twin Towers. When I finally finished the exhibition, I adorned the paintings with a rainbow-emitting, glittering glaze, taking them out to the sunlight of my Easton garden for this process, in humble tribute to Patricia who could never enjoy the warmth and radiance of sunlight.

Ten days after their September 1st, 2001, installation, the exhibition took on an entirely new meaning. Due to open October 6th, I had considered cancelling the exhibition, which was also the 25th Anniversary Party for me and my husband Earl.

After much reflection, I decided that, to cancel the exhibition, would be to give yet another victory to the powers of hate that destroyed the Twin Towers. They were not going to silence my art; the exhibition opened as planned.

Eleven of the artworks are displayed here; the exhibition was a 100% donation to our wonderful church, the Metropolitan Community Church of New York (UFMCC).
