I began this poem on September 11, 2001, after hearing the reports of the attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania.

The poem was never finished, and by chance I found it on my computer on September 11, 2009. The significance of the day and the memories gave me the inspiration to finish the poem, reminding us all to always remember and never forget the tragic events in September 2001.
