    Statement of Work

    ARTISTS STATEMENT

My needs for self-expression have been continuously evolving over the years. In my early years I worked in a realistic style which evolved into my moon series. This combining flat planes in landscapes with skies and moons that tied the paintings together. In later years I experimented with techniques using various water media and varnishes creating abstractions suggestive of nature.

I designed a painting around the theme of Women in the New Millenium for a Fla.NAWA show. I came to the idea of women running a three-ring circus using humor as my theme.

The tragedy of September eleventh moved me to create a painting that combines all my ideas of what painting is all about. Emotions and interaction with the viewer should be evoked with style and technique as part of this process. I feel this work is the culmination of my art career.
