    Resume

Mary Beth has been quilting since the early 1980's and entering quilt shows and competitions since about 1990. She works both using traditional patterns and more free-form designs and enjoys using color and texture to create dimension and movement in her works. Her current quilts often use simple shapes and are predominantly and heavily machine-quilted.

Mary Beth curated a collection of 28 quilts on the topic of child abuse, which traveled to events between 1999 and 2001. These quilts were made by online quilters and have been seen in Japan and Canada as well as in the United States. Her quilt, "Warp, Weft, Rift" was part of "The Roots of Racism: Ignorance and Fear" exhibit. This show debuted in Memphis TN in September 2000. Her quilt and others ended their touring on display at the US Embassy in Islamabad as part of the Art in Embassies Program, which published a catalogue of quilts seen at the Embassy.

A co-founder of a local quilt group, East Side Quilters in Rensselaer County, Mary Beth was also co-founder and president of NYQuilts!, a non-profit annual quilt show held in Troy, NY for seven years. She enjoys being a part of the online community of quilters, actively participating in both the QuiltArt mailing list and a smaller group of 35 quilters from across the world. She uses the web to show her design and creation process and to share her finished work with others.

Mary Beth lives in southeastern Rensselaer County, New York.
