MY Name is Liz Cary Macchio. Presently I am an artist working in New York. Currently my focus is landscape, stillife and portraiture in both oil and pastel.

I attended the school of Visual Arts from 1983-86. The focus was on realism with the study of great artists. The influence of Vermeer can be seen in my portraits and Monet has inspired my approach to landscape.

The challenge I pose for myself is to not only realistically present an image, but to also convey feeling and emotion in the image. If a person gazes upon one of my landscapes I want them to feel they would like to be there.
